Objective
Design the UX for a mobile app which makes use of crowdsourced information, along with GPS data to locate and rate public restrooms.

Problem
Women, trans people, families, dads with kids, elderly people and/or people with bladder control issues, travelers/tourists, those who work outside of a physical workplace (i.e. gardeners, gig workers), all potentially have an in interest in finding clean, safe restrooms when out and about.

Process
Developed a user persona and storyboard based on a typical platform user, and typical platform experience. Worked through several iterations of wireframe and prototype development.

Solution
P is somewhat high in domain complexity because it draws from Big Data sources, but the interaction complexity is designed to be low in order to have a positive user experience. The process for submitting a rating is quick and efficient to accommodate short attention spans of busy people, as does the process for finding a restroom that suits one’s needs. There is also a built-in layer for user feedback about the app itself, and a process in place for continual updates and re-design.

Outcome
The design received positive feedback from the instructor, and classmates.
